''Making the decision to find care for an elderly family member or a friend is often emotional and unsettling.
You need to feel confident that they will be comfortable and well cared for and my role as Customer Relationship Manager is to give you all the information and guidance you require to ensure you make an informed decision.
Working closely with families to understand their needs and the type of care they require, I will be able to offer advice on the services offered together with the facilities depending on health requirements together with financial commitments, to ensure a smooth and happy transition for all involved.
I would be delighted to welcome you for a visit and answer any questions you may have.''
''Hello my name is Christopher, Head Chef to this beautiful care home Baycroft in Great Baddow
I started my career straight away after leaving school in 1991, working in various prestigious establishments.
In 2001 I decided to return to college and study patisserie. I worked in a few famous establishments including Harrods, where I received 'The Chairman’s Award For Excellence' during my role as head of pastry in the Georgian restaurant.
I founded my own company in 2007 that supplied high-quality desserts and gateaux across central Essex. I won the award of 'New Small Business' from the 'Mid Essex Business Awards' in 2009.
I left my patisserie in 2014 to spend more time with my 3 children. I am now with Baycroft to continue producing a standard of excellence.''
‘’My name is Rebecca Harris.
I have worked in care for over 5 years and have recently been promoted to Care Team Leader at Baycroft.
I look forward in supporting the team and most importantly ensuring our residents are well cared for and looked after.
I am so lucky to be given this opportunity and will bring my experience and knowledge to my new job role.’’
‘’My story is a little different from my other colleagues. When Covid hit us, I was immediately sent home being one of the shielded people in the country and then sadly was put on furlough.
Being at home alone was the most anxious time of my life. My work friend who was also in the same situation kept in contact calling me regularly through the week. We kept one another going, sharing what we heard was happening in the home.
I felt helpless and saddened about how the home had to adjust; however, I could not be there to support my colleagues and our wonderful residents.
Time passed by and I was able to return to my role as receptionist. This was a new life with PPE in place and regular tests having to be carried out, which just emphasised more how terribly fast this virus was spreading. It was so nerve-racking. Even to this day the thoughts of those days ever happening again brings a tear to my eyes.
I’m so lucky to be alive and be close with my residents who have become my family.’’
‘’I became a nurse so that I could have an impact on the lives of others and have a career that felt very meaningful.
After almost 10 years of helping patients and their families navigate living with dementia and end of life stage, I believe that at the end of the day, no matter how challenging, I have impacted someone’s life for the better.
I am very proud of my nursing profession and working with the lovely team of Baycroft.
I love that nursing is still the most trusted profession to the public: a responsibility we should never take for granted.’’
‘’My love for food began at a young age. My mother is a caterer and watching her in the kitchen inspired me.
My career began working as a Commis Chef at a Bar/Restaurant in Leigh on Sea, working my way up to Chef de Partie. It was here, where the Head Chef, previously of Harvey Nichols, taught me my creative passion.
I then moved to a Golf and Country Club catering for Weddings whilst serving the bars and restaurant. There, I was lucky to work with a Head Chef formerly awarded a Red M in the Michelin Guide. He educated me to be inspired and excited by the prospect of food and its multitude of possibilities.
Moving into care homes I became the youngest Catering Manager working for Compass Group. After 15 years in this field, I felt inspired by the vision of Baycroft raising the standards in care.
Baycroft allows me to be creative. I am excited to deliver restaurant standard food, using locally sourced produce, and meeting with our residents to ensure their needs are always met.’’
‘’At the beginning of 2019, I started working as a carer at Baycroft.
Through this very difficult period it took time to adjust with all the new processes and extra precautions we all took as carers.
Being a single mum, I was worried for my children after a long shift. What would happen if I was to catch Covid? Who would look after them? Many thoughts went through my mind. However, we carried on with our work, giving our residents the best care in those difficult times.
In the bleak of it all, we went through some sad times, some tears, not knowing if this was ever going to end or even if it would!
As carers, we bonded and supported one another and remain very loyal to one another even to this day.
Later in the year, I moved on to work as a receptionist, which I fully enjoy.’’
