Staff from Baycroft Flitwick care home, located on Ampthill Road, took part in The Memory Walk 2019 on Sunday 22nd September 2019 at Willen Lake Milton Keynes to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Sheena Croston (General Manager), Charlotte Deans (Customer Relations Manager), David Reid (Maintenance), Tracy Harris (Carer) and Tatum Harvey (Carer) completed the 5k Memory Walk and are now busy collecting as much money as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Charlotte Deans, Customer Relations Manager said:
“At Baycroft Flitwick, we specialise in caring for residents with dementia and we are passionate in ensuring a safe and caring environment for them; that’s why we decided to take part in the Memory Walk 2019. It was a great achievement for me, I bought my 7-year-old son along to take part, which raises his awareness of the cause, and it’s great to know that the money we raise will be going to support people living with Alzheimer’s, their carers and to fund research.”
Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today. Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. Sadly, there’s currently no cure.
