Councillor Phillip Thompson, Mayor of Flitwick, officially opened the new Baycroft care home on Ampthill Road on Friday 1st November. The home is now ready to offer residents their own bespoke bedroom within homely and elegant surroundings and hotel standard services.
New residents will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscaped garden that is overlooked by the luxury dining area where fresh, locally sourced and seasonal meals will be served. To break down loneliness, use of the on-site cinema, library, hair salon, spa treatment room and activity room will be actively encouraged. The home is also equipped with the latest dementia care and resident safety technology so that older people living at the home and their families feel secure.
Cllr Thompson said:
“I was so pleased to take part in the official opening of Baycroft Flitwick. This is a wonderful facility, which will be an asset for local people.
It is a lovely environment for older people to live in and be cared for in their local community. It is also providing local employment opportunities.
Baycroft are keen to be involved in the local community and even better their Company is a part of a housing association so any profits from running this facility will be reinvested in social housing and meeting people’s needs.”
Managing Director of Baycroft, Andrew Winstanley, said:
“Flitwick was a natural choice for a Baycroft care home. It’s a beautiful place and people love living here so they want to stay as part of the community as they get older. We are proud to be doing our bit to solve the shortage of care in the town and places are filling quickly.”
When fully occupied, the home will have created 80 new jobs from nurses and dementia care specialists to chefs.
