Contact Us Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date on activities and events within our home.I started my career as a travel agent when I left school. I was first introduced to the care industry through personal circumstances when my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. This experience gave me insight into the care industry and what is required in a caring role and environment, particularly when dealing with vulnerable people in often very difficult and distressing circumstances. Following this personal experience and after the birth of my daughter, I decided to change my career. This was from a successful management role within the travel industry to a career within care.
I have never doubted this decision and I have since continued to develop my career in the care industry and in my nursing education and career through experience and training. Importantly in a caring and nursing role, I have formed professional, though sensitive and understanding working relationships.
I have had a varied career in the care and nursing industry. I started as a carer and soon progressed to a senior care position. Following my nursing degree, I spent several years as a community nurse. I have now developed into a nursing home manager and have been doing so since 2017.
As the general manager of Baycroft, I want to ensure that all our residents are impeccably respected and cared for to the highest of standards. The role of a carer and a nurse must come from the heart as this is not just a job, but a vocation and this in turn will benefit and enrich the lives of the people that matter, our residents. I also want our residents to have a voice and to be heard. Therefore, I encourage residents to come and see me with views and ideas on how we can continuously strive to improve. My door is always open.
